Ambulatory Patient Access Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ambulatory Patient Access Representative to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a key member of our Patient Access department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient registration process for our patients.
Responsibilities:- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families, applying best practices and standard operating procedures.
- Interview and register patients in registration areas, obtaining accurate demographic, insurance, and physician information.
- Screen customer data to ensure patient eligibility for insurance and verify pre-certification and physician referral requirements.
- Assist in identifying self-pay patients and referring them to financial assistance when applicable.
- Establish and maintain open communication with various departments and clinical staff.
- Assist in the shadowing and precepting of new employees.
- High school graduate, Associate's degree preferred.
- Demonstrated computer skills with the ability to navigate current technology systems.
- Strong administrative skills.
- One year of previous healthcare experience preferred.
