About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ambulatory Patient Access Representative to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a key member of our Patient Access department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and families, ensuring accurate and efficient registration processes, and maintaining open communication with various departments and clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Registration and Scheduling: Greet and register patients, obtain accurate demographic and insurance information, and schedule appointments in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients and families, addressing their concerns and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage, identify self-pay patients, and refer them to financial assistance programs as needed.
  • Communication: Establish and maintain open communication with various departments and clinical staff, ensuring seamless coordination of patient care.
  • Training and Development: Assist in the shadowing and precepting of new employees, promoting a culture of learning and growth within the department.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Previous healthcare experience, preferably in registration or a related field; certifications in CPR and computer skills required.
  • Skills: Strong administrative skills, ability to multitask, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
