Ambulatory Patient Access Representative-Eye Clinic

We are seeking a highly skilled Ambulatory Patient Access Representative-Eye Clinic to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a key member of our Patient Access department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and families, ensuring seamless registration and scheduling processes, and maintaining accurate patient information.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide excellent customer service to patients and families, applying best practices and standard operating procedures.
- Interview and register patients in registration areas, obtaining accurate demographic, insurance, and physician information.
- Screen customer data to ensure patient eligibility for insurance and communicate differences to the customer.
- Assist in identifying self-pay patients and referring them to financial assistance when applicable.
- Establish and maintain open communication with all departments that Patient Access interacts with and clinical staff in those areas.
- Assist in the shadowing/precepting of new employees.
- High school graduate; Associate's Degree preferred.
- Certifications: CPR certification (based on position and as determined by manager).
- Demonstrated computer skills required with the ability to navigate most current technology systems.
- Strong administrative skills required.
- One-year previous health care experience preferred.
This role requires occasional squatting/kneeling, reaching above shoulder level, and driving motor vehicles. The employee may be exposed to blood and/or bodily fluids, loud noises, and biohazard waste.
