Job Summary and Qualifications
This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center by optimizing the quality of life for all those served, expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to encompass the needs of the whole person.

As a key team member, you will assist the physician in performing invasive cardiac procedures. Responsibilities include scrubbing, monitoring, and X-Ray operation. You will also perform ancillary duties related to the job such as quality control, inventory management, and stocking as assigned by the supervisor. Additionally, you will facilitate educational programs and departmental competencies for cardiovascular technicians and nurses, mentor, and function as a preceptor for new cardiovascular technologist employees. Your role is to provide all customers with the necessary services/tests in a safe, friendly, and efficient manner.

The Senior Cardiovascular Technologist aims to deliver leadership and quality healthcare in pediatric and adult cardiac care and vascular procedures as required by the Cardiovascular Department. You will coordinate with the Charge Nurse daily to ensure efficient workflow and, when necessary, perform supervisory duties in the supervisor's absence.
National registry in Cardiovascular Technology (CCI) or Radiology Technology (AART) in good standing is required. RCIS certification is mandatory. BCLS and ACLS certifications are required upon hire, with PALS certification within six months of hire.
An associate's degree in a health sciences field is preferred. Completion of an accredited cardiovascular training program or Radiologic training program is essential.
Two years of experience on the job or graduation from an associate's degree program in radiology or cardiovascular technology is required, with certification within one year of hire.

Skills should be commensurate with formal training or on-the-job training, including operation of all cardiovascular lab equipment, procedure instrumentation, and monitoring procedures, including emergent situations. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. Adherence to departmental safety and quality controls is expected.

Must possess a good working knowledge of radiographic, hemodynamic monitoring, recording equipment, and/or devices relevant to cardiovascular procedures as determined by the Director/Supervisor. Basic keyboard and computer skills are also necessary.
