Job Summary and Qualifications
I.

Position Summary:
Assists the Physician in conducting diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, electrophysiology procedures, structural heart procedures, and peripheral vascular procedures.

II.

Position Requirements:
A.

Licensure/Certification/ Registration:


Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate nursing licensure, or current registration as Registered Radiology Technologist (RTR), or current certification as Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS); current BLS certification and current ACLS certification through AHA or ARC.

B.

Education:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing, accredited RTR and/or RCIS training program.
C.

Experience:
2 years' experience in critical care nursing preferred (RN). 2 years' experience in interventional radiology procedures (RTR) preferred. 2 years' experience in a cardiovascular lab setting preferred (RCIS).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Available to meet the department's requirements for being on-call for after-hours emergency procedures and be within the required thirty-minute response time.
  • Provides safe and appropriate patient care within the Standards of Nursing Practice at SMC.
  • Exhibits sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Possesses patient assessment knowledge and capability.
