Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist to join our team at Intermountain Healthcare. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will be responsible for performing technical procedures and providing patient care during invasive cardiovascular procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support during invasive cardiovascular procedures, including cardiac catheterization and angiography.
  • Assist physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascular procedures, maintaining sterile conditions and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Operate imaging equipment and work in the control room, monitoring and documenting procedure images and events.
  • Educate patients and families regarding the procedure and expectations, teaching them about pre and post-procedure physical conditions.
  • Assist in maintaining order and cleanliness of the unit, ensuring appropriate stock levels for complex interventions and diagnostic procedures.
  • Complete daily, progress, and discharge documentation according to departmental standards, accurately documenting productivity information.
  • Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying potential areas for improvement and taking appropriate actions.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Registered ARRT or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist (RCIS) or Registered Respiratory Therapist with CV-specific certification or RCIS/RCES required within 18 months of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) and ACLS required.
  • Surgery Technician License must be obtained within 3 months from hire date in the State of Colorado required.
  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Two (2) years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab preferred.
Physical Requirements

This role requires ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy is also required.
