We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist to join our team at Intermountain Healthcare. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will be responsible for performing technical procedures and providing patient care during invasive cardiovascular procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support during invasive cardiovascular procedures, including cardiac catheterization and other complex interventions.
- Assist physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascular procedures, maintaining sterile conditions and operating imaging equipment.
- Monitor and document procedure images and events, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Educate patients and families regarding procedures and expectations, teaching them about pre and post-procedure physical conditions.
- Assist in maintaining order and cleanliness of the unit, ensuring appropriate stock levels for complex interventions and diagnostic procedures.
- Complete daily, progress, and discharge documentation according to departmental standards, accurately documenting productivity information.
- Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying potential areas for improvement and taking appropriate actions to enhance patient satisfaction and safety.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Registered ARRT or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist (RCIS) or Registered Respiratory Therapist with CV-specific certification or RCIS/RCES required within 18 months of hire.
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) and ACLS required.
- Surgery Technician License must be obtained within 3 months from hire date in the State of Colorado.
- Associates degree preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab preferred.
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
