Job Overview

The Maintenance Operations Specialist is accountable for the strategic planning and coordination of maintenance activities within a Combined Cycle Power Plant. This role encompasses preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies, ensuring the effective operation of multiple turbine generators and associated auxiliary systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site assessments to identify safety hazards and potential operational issues, ensuring all work is accurately understood prior to planning.
  • Estimate labor requirements and timelines for maintenance tasks, coordinating with various craft groups.
  • Manage material procurement, ensuring that all necessary stock and non-stock items are available for scheduled work.
  • Prepare and oversee the scheduling of maintenance activities, ensuring all resources are allocated effectively.
  • Develop and maintain a backlog of work, tracking labor capacity to optimize scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Generate weekly and long-term maintenance schedules for operational supervisors, facilitating efficient workflow.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders, ensuring accurate documentation of repairs and associated costs.
  • Collaborate with management and operational teams to address planning and scheduling challenges, providing performance reports as needed.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of eight years of experience in maintenance management within an electric power generation environment is desirable. Proficiency in CMMS, particularly Maximo, is preferred.

Equivalent Experience: Candidates with a two-year technical degree and ten years of relevant experience, or twelve years of directly related experience, may be considered based on a combination of education and professional experience.

Additional Information:

This role may require availability during unusual hours due to the 24-hour operation of generating plants. The incumbent will be on-call for incidents affecting operational reliability.

Travel Requirements: Approximately 30% travel may be necessary.
