Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Facility Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Child Development Centers Inc. This role is essential in ensuring that our facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children and staff.


Position Classification:
Non-Exempt

Reports to:
Center Director

Shift: 3:00pm-11:30pm, with potential travel to various centers as needed.

Role Summary:
The Facility Maintenance Specialist is responsible for executing a range of cleaning and maintenance tasks to uphold the center's standards of hygiene and organization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough cleaning of all areas within the center, including classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and communal spaces, adhering to the standards set forth by the Center Director.
  • Perform various floor and carpet maintenance tasks, such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and spot cleaning.
  • Ensure daily removal of waste from the facility.
  • Restock paper and soap supplies in restrooms and classrooms as necessary.
  • Clean walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other surfaces to maintain a hygienic environment for children.
  • Keep an accurate inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Follow all safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Center Director.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding students and families.
  • Fulfill all other job-related responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field, preferably in a service-oriented environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Must possess or obtain necessary state and federal clearances.

Transportation:
Reliable transportation is required for this position.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, with occasional sitting, walking, and bending.
  • Frequent lifting of children and/or objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Dexterity requirements include coordinated movements of fingers and hands, as well as basic movements of feet, legs, and torso as needed to perform job duties.
