Saint Johnsbury, Vermont, United States TSNE MissionWorks Full time

Overview
The Worker’s Justice Project (WJP) was established to combat the racial and economic injustices faced by low-wage immigrant workers in urban settings. Our mission is to empower these workers to achieve institutional reform through collective action.

WJP operates two established worker centers in Brooklyn, focusing on promoting justice and opportunities for low-wage immigrant workers. We advocate for the systematic enforcement and enhancement of workplace protections, including labor rights and occupational health standards, while also pursuing industry-specific initiatives to improve working conditions.

In addition, WJP provides skills development training in health and safety, along with educating immigrant communities about their workplace rights and how to assert them. WJP is a fiscally sponsored initiative of TSNE.

Responsibilities
The Intake Specialist will be based at WJP's Williamsburg Worker Center, requiring on-site presence, including evening and weekend hours. Proficiency in Spanish is essential.

The Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting a team of organizers and case managers, aimed at enhancing WJP's membership, achieving significant workplace campaign victories, and contributing to long-term movement building in the community.

Key Functions
- Serve as the first point of contact for members and visitors, both in-person and via phone.
- Conduct initial assessments and intake procedures for individuals seeking assistance.
- Maintain and update a monthly calendar of events for members and staff.
- Collaborate with WJP staff to establish and manage a visitor triage system.
- Direct clients to suitable WJP services or external service providers, including case management, training, and language classes.
- Identify and cultivate new referral sources and partnerships for service provision.
- Facilitate membership orientation sessions for prospective members.
- Manage inventory of supplies for the center and oversee ordering processes.
- Assist the WJP team with outreach efforts and follow-up communications with members.
- Support case management by connecting members with service providers and conducting necessary follow-ups.
- Document all communications and maintain accurate records.
- Enter and update client/member information in WJP's tracking systems.
- Generate monthly reports based on collected data.
- Aid in the creation and distribution of promotional materials for WJP programs.
- Assist with administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications
- Fluency in both written and spoken Spanish is required.
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years of relevant administrative experience; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft and Google applications, as well as office equipment operation.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Commitment to assisting workers in connecting with necessary services.
- Alignment with WJP's mission and values.
- Experience working with immigrant communities or in worker organizing is a plus.
