Position Summary:
Utilize a combination of administrative, technical, and managerial skills to oversee electrical design projects, ensuring they are completed successfully, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management

  • Receive strategic guidance from senior management regarding key objectives and critical issues. Oversee personnel and processes to ensure effective project execution. Review team outputs for quality assurance.

Operational Engagement

  • Promote the firm's capabilities to attract new clients and strengthen existing relationships.
  • Act as the primary representative for project teams in client communications and issue resolutions.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to fulfill project requirements.

Project Execution

  • Design intricate electrical systems in compliance with current codes and sound engineering practices.
  • Lead project development for complex assignments, including defining project scopes, preparing bid summaries, and developing budgets and cost estimates.
  • Oversee the preparation of designs, specifications, plans, estimates, and reports for projects.
  • Review job cost sheets and manage monthly billing to ensure projects remain within budget.
  • Monitor work-in-progress, billing, and accounts receivable collections.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide operational insights to drive project success.
  • Assist in marketing efforts and attend relevant meetings.
  • Support team leaders in securing repeat business and identifying new opportunities.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and design teams throughout project lifecycles.
  • Review project changes and assess their impact on staffing and budgets.
  • Provide technical support in resolving design challenges, including field investigations and detailed design reviews.
  • Apply extensive knowledge of engineering principles and procedures.
  • Oversee designs through construction and project completion.
  • Conduct field observations to document existing conditions accurately.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Produce construction documents that meet project milestones within budgeted hours.
  • Participate in coordination and design meetings as necessary.
  • Define project specifications and estimate construction costs.
  • Address feedback from clients and regulatory authorities, adjusting designs as needed.
  • Review project-related administrative items when directed.
  • Work within established project budgets.
  • Continuously develop knowledge of applicable codes and software tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • At least eight years of relevant industry experience in designing various project types.
  • A minimum of three years in an assistant project management role.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, REVIT, and related software tools.
  • EIT and LEED accreditation are preferred.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily an indoor office setting with potential outdoor site visits.
  • Mobility within an office environment and occasional outdoor work.
  • Frequent use of standard office equipment.
  • Physical demands may include lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.

Compensation:
Salary and variable compensation will be commensurate with experience, with a range of $100,000 - $140,000, including a comprehensive benefits package.
