ABOUT THE POSITION
The Senior Project Manager oversees cost assessments and general operational management of various commercial and industrial electrical construction initiatives.

This role involves managing multiple project sites across the state.

Sturgeon Electric operates two divisions, providing both power line construction and commercial/industrial electrical services, establishing itself as a full-service electrical contractor.

The Commercial and Industrial (C&I) division specializes in large-scale commercial electrical projects, including telecommunications, traffic signalization, gas distribution, and high voltage distribution service and maintenance.

Sturgeon Electric is experienced in executing projects using Integrated Lean Project Delivery methods and offers pre-construction services, in-house pre-fabrication capabilities, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) services.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project construction schedules.
- Submit Requests for Information to clients.
- Oversee daily operations of assigned projects.
- Serve as the primary contact for project personnel.
- Organize meetings, update schedules, submit deliverables, and address outstanding items as requested by clients.
- Prepare look-ahead documents and progress reports, including billing information.
- Monitor job costs against budgets and report regularly to the management team.
- Generate comprehensive cost estimates (labor and materials) for commercial and industrial projects within established deadlines.
- Conduct field evaluations for estimate preparation.
- Engage in the estimate review process with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare bills of material and other necessary information for purchasing.
- Schedule and conduct field walk-downs with clients, subcontractors, and construction teams to assess constructability requirements.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency across various project documents.
- Assist in preparing and submitting change orders.
- Collaborate closely with project management.
- Support construction teams throughout the project lifecycle in understanding and tracking cost estimates.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Qualifications
- 10+ years of project management and estimating experience in the electrical sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proficient in interpreting specifications, proposals, and documentation for time/cost/labor estimates.
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (N.E.C.) and local regulations.
- Ability to read and comprehend civil, architectural, structural, and mechanical plans and specifications, including blueprints.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications and estimating software such as Accubid or equivalent.
- Capable of preparing construction schedules using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external partners.
- Self-motivated with the capacity to maintain focus over extended periods.
