Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd. is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee electrical design initiatives. This role emphasizes a commitment to fostering a collaborative and dynamic professional environment.

Position Summary:
In this capacity, you will apply a combination of administrative, technical, and managerial skills to ensure the successful execution of electrical design projects, adhering to timelines and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management

  • Receive strategic guidance from senior management regarding key objectives and critical issues. Supervise personnel and processes to ensure effective project execution while maintaining quality assurance standards.

Operational Engagement

  • Market the firm’s capabilities to attract new clients and strengthen existing relationships.
  • Act as the primary liaison for client communications and project resolutions.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to fulfill project requirements.

Project Execution

  • Design intricate electrical systems in compliance with current codes and sound engineering practices.
  • Oversee project development, including defining project scopes, preparing bid summaries, and estimating costs.
  • Direct the preparation of designs, specifications, plans, and reports.
  • Monitor job cost sheets and manage monthly billing processes to ensure adherence to budget allocations.
  • Maintain robust client relationships and provide operational insights to drive project success.
  • Facilitate marketing presentations and participate in client meetings.
  • Support the team leader in securing repeat business and identifying new opportunities.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and design teams throughout project lifecycles.
  • Evaluate project changes and assess their impact on staffing and budgets.
  • Provide technical support to resolve design challenges through field investigations and detailed design reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering principles and oversee project designs through to completion.
  • Conduct site visits to document existing conditions accurately.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Produce construction documents that meet project milestones within budgeted hours.
  • Attend design and coordination meetings as required.
  • Define project specifications and estimate construction costs.
  • Address client feedback and adjust designs as necessary.
  • Review project-related administrative items as directed.
  • Adhere to established project budgets and maintain knowledge of relevant codes.
  • Develop proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit software.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of eight years of relevant industry experience in the design of various project types.
  • At least three years of experience in project management.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software.
  • EIT and LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with occasional outdoor site visits.
  • Mobility required within an office and construction site environments.
  • Frequent use of standard office equipment.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of light loads.
