The Senior Electrical Project Manager oversees cost assessments and general operational management of various commercial and industrial electrical construction initiatives.
This role involves working across multiple project sites, ensuring effective project execution and adherence to timelines.

Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc., a subsidiary of MYR Group, Inc., has been delivering comprehensive electrical construction solutions since 1912. We serve clients throughout the western United States.
Our organization operates two divisions, specializing in both power line construction and commercial/industrial electrical projects, establishing us as a full-service electrical contractor.
The Commercial and Industrial (C&I) division focuses on large-scale electrical undertakings, including telecommunications, traffic signalization, gas distribution, and high voltage distribution services.
We employ Integrated Lean Project Delivery methods and provide pre-construction services, in-house pre-fabrication, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project construction schedules.
- Submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to clients.
- Oversee daily project activities and serve as the primary contact for project personnel.
- Coordinate meetings, provide schedule updates, and manage deliverables.
- Prepare look-ahead documents and regular progress reports.
- Monitor job costs against budgets and report findings to management.
- Create comprehensive cost estimates for commercial and industrial projects within deadlines.
- Conduct field evaluations for accurate estimate preparation.
- Engage in the estimate review process with stakeholders.
- Prepare material bills for purchasing.
- Schedule and conduct field walk-downs with clients and subcontractors.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of change orders.
- Collaborate closely with project management teams.
- Support construction personnel throughout the project lifecycle in understanding cost estimates.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years in project management and estimating within the electrical sector.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting civil, architectural, and electrical plans and specifications.
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (N.E.C.) and local regulations.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and estimating software such as Accubid.
- Capable of preparing construction schedules using Microsoft Project or Primavera.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
