Senior Nuclear Medicine Specialist

We are pleased to present an opportunity to join Sutter Health as a Senior Nuclear Medicine Specialist.
Position Overview:
In this role, you will proficiently conduct both standard and advanced nuclear medicine procedures, generating high-quality imaging for physicians and healthcare professionals involved in diagnosing, treating, monitoring, and preventing medical conditions. You will operate autonomously, applying sound judgment and advanced clinical skills to perform safe and accurate procedures, ensuring timely delivery of results. Building trust and rapport with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members is essential, achieved through thorough patient evaluations, vigilant monitoring, and effective communication. Compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as adherence to organizational policies and procedures, is crucial to maintaining patient privacy and safety while providing exceptional care. Additionally, you may take on responsibilities for specific procedures and assist in training new staff members within the department.
Additional Requirements:
EDUCATION:
- Completion of an accredited educational program in Nuclear Medicine recognized by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology or the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT), or an accredited Radiography program by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
- California Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the field
- Comprehensive understanding of diagnostic nuclear medicine principles, procedures, and equipment, with experience in responding to emergencies and trauma situations.
- Ability to perform routine nuclear medicine examinations and a foundational knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including those without medical backgrounds.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities, with a talent for prioritizing tasks and adhering to established procedures and scientific methods to meet objectives and deadlines.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and relevant information systems (Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Electronic Health Records (EHR), EPIC, and Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS)).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Skill in identifying, evaluating, and resolving standard issues by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
- Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of each patient's protected health information (PHI).
- Ability to foster collaborative relationships with colleagues and other healthcare professionals to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
