Job Overview

Founded in 1987, Pacific Medical, Inc. is a leading distributor of durable medical equipment, focusing on orthopedic rehabilitation, arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine, prosthetics, and orthotics. We are currently looking to expand our team with 4 full-time Medical Billing Specialists for our office. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Confirm medical eligibility, benefit coverage, and authorization requirements via online platforms or phone communication.
  • Secure necessary authorizations as mandated by insurance plans through various communication methods.
  • Ensure timely processing of files according to established deadlines.
  • Engage with patients to gather information required for processing insurance claims or billing.
  • Communicate with Workers' Compensation carriers to acquire necessary information for authorizations and process accordingly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute.
  • 1-2 years of experience in medical billing is preferred.
Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $16.00 to $23.00

  • Annual Range: $33,280 to $47,840

Overtime Rate: $24.00 to $34.50

  • Potential Annual Overtime Earnings: $5,800 - $17,200+
  • Note: Abundant overtime opportunities available.
Bonus Structure:

Production Bonus: Up to $1,000 per month, potentially increasing hourly rate by up to $5.77 or $12,000 annually.

Profit Bonus: Up to $1,000 per month, potentially increasing hourly rate by up to $5.77 or $12,000 annually.

Total Compensation Examples:
  • Annual Base Pay: Estimated at $38,053 (including 5 hours of overtime per week, low-range bonuses after 3 months).
  • Annual Mid-Range Pay: Estimated at $56,352 (including 5 hours of overtime per week, mid-range bonuses).
  • Annual Top Pay: Estimated at $77,653 (including 5 hours of overtime per week, maximum bonuses).
