Position Summary:

The individual in this position will competently perform both standard and advanced nuclear medicine procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging for physicians and healthcare professionals to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of medical conditions. This role also encompasses responsibilities typical of a Radiologic Technologist, specifically in X-Ray operations.

Preferred qualifications include certifications and experience in Radiologic Technology within a healthcare environment, as this position integrates both nuclear medicine and X-Ray functions.

The candidate will work autonomously, applying sound judgment and refined clinical skills to conduct safe and accurate procedures, delivering timely and precise results. Establishing trust and cooperation with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals is essential through effective patient assessment, diligent monitoring, and clear communication. Compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures is critical to ensure patient privacy and safety while providing exceptional care. Additional responsibilities may include performing specific procedures and assisting in the orientation of new staff within the department.

Educational Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited educational program in Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiography.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • California Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Preferred: California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) certification for assisting with X-Ray procedures

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the field.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive understanding of diagnostic nuclear medicine principles, procedures, and equipment, with experience in emergency response.
  • Ability to conduct routine radiographic and nuclear medicine examinations, along with a foundational knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey sensitive information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities, with a focus on prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare information systems.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Adept at identifying and resolving standard issues by selecting appropriate solutions.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting health information.
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships with colleagues and healthcare providers to meet departmental goals.
