Environmental Consultant/ Specialist

Position Summary:

The Environmental Consultant/ Specialist will play a pivotal role in managing and executing technical projects related to environmental compliance and remediation. This position requires a blend of fieldwork and analytical skills to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and to support the development of sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee surface-water monitoring initiatives, including the design and maintenance of automated data collection systems.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of environmental data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established quality objectives.
  • Manage the operational integrity of retention pond systems, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Provide engineering support for groundwater treatment systems, focusing on design, operation, and maintenance.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and local communities, to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Perform comprehensive reviews of environmental reports and documentation to uphold quality standards.
  • Assist in project management activities, including scope, schedule, and budget oversight.
  • Support quality assurance processes through internal and external audits.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to their professional development.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Hydrology, Environmental Sciences, or Engineering, accompanied by a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in site characterization and environmental remediation techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly in data evaluation and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with environmental monitoring systems and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Physical Requirements:

This role may require the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and involves fieldwork in various environmental conditions.
