Tax Compliance Assistant

Position Overview:
As a vital member of the Corporate Accounting team, you will support the Tax Accountant in preparing various state filings and ensuring corporate compliance. Your role will involve researching relevant state tax regulations and providing analytical data support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Timely and accurately prepare state and local filings, including sales and use tax, annual reports, business licenses, and various tax forms.
- Compile completed filing packages and payment confirmations for the Tax Accountant's review.
- Address incoming tax notices, identify underlying issues, analyze trends of recurring notices, and liaise with tax authorities and third-party tax advisors.
- Organize and maintain corporate documents and tax files in a digital format.
- Assist with tax research and participate in special projects with varying levels of responsibility.
- Support the Tax Accountant in data preparation for transfer pricing reviews and year-end tax provisions.
- Contribute to sales tax reviews and manage the billing process for specific programs.
- Stay informed about developments in your area of responsibility.
- Assist with annual compliance reporting.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and focused.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proficient in Excel, including v-lookup, pivot tables, and Excel add-ins.
- Demonstrates eagerness to learn and take on responsibilities.
- Prior experience is advantageous.
- High level of confidentiality is essential.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Taxation, or Finance is preferred.
- Some experience in tax compliance, such as sales/use tax and 1099/1042 filings, is required.
