PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: The main objective is to investigate and address technical accounting inquiries for all divisions of Loves, while also supporting special initiatives linked to prospective acquisitions and new business opportunities the organization is assessing. This role will be responsible for the ownership of the consolidated GAAP financial reports and will serve as the key resource and authority on technical accounting matters for Loves. Additionally, this position will oversee IT accounting and offer guidance on the company-wide technology expenditures and allocations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accountability for the GAAP financial reports, which encompasses, but is not limited to, the consolidation and elimination processes, system management, and report generation.
  • Collaborate with corporate development and financial analysts concerning corporate development prospects.
  • Assist in due diligence and ensure the correct accounting treatment of new acquisitions.
  • Provide accounting insights as new acquisitions, joint ventures, and deals are evaluated.
  • Work alongside senior management on special initiatives, financial presentations, and analyses as required.
  • Handle highly confidential information that could have immediate repercussions on the company and its stakeholders if disclosed beyond the intended audience and relevant management.
  • Conduct research on accounting standards related to new pronouncements and as inquiries arise.
  • Articulate complex financial concepts at the appropriate level of detail necessary.
  • Support during the external audit process.
  • Oversee the IT accounting resource and assist IT personnel by reviewing monthly reports and advising on the treatment of project costs and allocation methods, in addition to aiding in the budgeting process.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
    • CPA license strongly preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Prior accounting experience required.
    • SAP experience strongly preferred.

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Hard Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of learning new software applications and computer programs; knowledge of SAP, BPC, and Business Objects is advantageous.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Ability to maintain a steady workflow, interact with a diverse range of individuals, and manage the possibility of evening and/or weekend work; exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills; effective verbal and written communication; teamwork and time management skills; must be dependable and able to meet deadlines.
    • Physical Requirements:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
