OVERVIEW

Deliver advanced financial analysis and strategic support for designated business units, encompassing both full line and regional levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Oversee and compile biannual and fiscal year budgets and forecasts for assigned business sectors, including full-line sales and corporate departments. Utilize Hyperion Planning software to generate detailed budget line items for all profit and loss accounts, headcount evaluations, and various financial assessments. Act as the subject matter expert for Hyperion Planning, aiding Service Finance and HQ Finance in budget input and review.

+ Aid in the verification of month-end revenue recognition discrepancies.

+ Reconcile monthly billed revenue from the system.

+ Conduct gross margin evaluations (actual vs. forecast) at a granular level and record necessary journal entries. Investigate identified gross margin discrepancies and document findings. Serve as the primary contact for all gross margin-related matters, including accruals, reclassifications, and tracking of purchase price variances and inventory costing issues.

+ Assist in the preparation of month-end commission and backorder analysis reports.

+ Support quarterly, semi-annual, and annual MIP bonus calculations.

+ Execute and review financial analyses, reconciling as necessary. Analyses encompass monthly selling expenses, temporary labor costs, general and administrative expenses, and travel and entertainment reviews. Download Concur and JP Morgan airfare activity to detail travel and entertainment expenses by employee.

+ Prepare variance analyses (actual, forecast, and budget) and post appropriate journal entries. Act as the point of contact for expense analysis, including accruals and reclassifications.

+ Provide management with financial insights, guidance, and consultation to assist in budget formulation and financial decision-making, such as product pricing evaluations or historical/trend analyses.

+ Generate and distribute standardized budgets, forecasts, and monthly sales and financial reports to executives and management. Participate in monthly meetings with business unit management to review financial actuals and forecasts.

+ Conduct the necessary monthly financial accounting close and journal entries.

+ Develop advertising and promotional expense budgets and forecasts. Meet regularly with relevant staff to review outcomes and provide detailed analyses of individual advertising and promotional accounts. Serve as the primary contact for expense accruals and prepaid expense evaluations.

+ Assist and provide backup to the Finance Manager in preparing the total company profit and loss statements for budgets and forecasts, balance sheets, and capital budgets. Prepare detailed schedules of actual and forecasted sales and gross margin transactions as part of the monthly total company profit and loss forecast. Conduct various ad hoc financial analyses for the CFO, Finance Manager, and key internal stakeholders.

+ Create new financial reports using Excel, Essbase, and Hyperion Planning as required.

+ Offer guidance and training to fellow accounting and finance personnel as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

+ Proficient in computer applications, including Oracle, MS Excel, and Hyperion Planning/Essbase.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail, initiative, and follow-through.

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.

+ Minimum of 5 years of experience, with 2 to 3 years of demonstrated experience providing financial advice and consultation to various management levels.

+ Preferred experience of 10 years.

+ Salary range: Minimum $84,300 to Maximum $135,700 annually.
