Position Title: Senior Financial Analyst Department: Finance

Core Responsibilities:

This role is designed to enhance the Finance department's capabilities through various responsibilities, including but not limited to cost/resource/schedule forecasting, project budgeting and analysis, Estimates at Completion (EACs), Earned Value Management (EVM), pricing strategies, and cost proposal development. The selected candidate will be expected to mentor other analysts within the finance team and assume a leadership role in daily operations and special projects.

Key Duties:
  1. Lead diverse financial analyses and conduct monthly program evaluations.
  2. Review Requests for Proposals (RFPs), formulate pricing models, and assist in drafting cost documentation.
  3. Collaborate with program managers to create precise forecasts, timelines, and Estimates at Completion for designated projects.
  4. Oversee and evaluate program expenditures to guarantee the accuracy of cost classifications and future projections.
  5. Gather, organize, synthesize, and interpret various data types.
  6. Generate and disseminate monthly reports, including financial variance and labor hour analysis.
  7. Examine monthly cost discrepancies and prepare explanations for management review.
  8. Support departmental growth and offer suggestions for process enhancement initiatives.
  9. Contribute to the annual corporate budget formulation and operational planning.
  10. Supervise a team of Analysts to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  11. Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.
Work Environment:

The employee will operate within an office setting. Occasional travel may be required to locations where specific attire is mandated.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, ideally in Finance or Accounting.
  • At least five (5) years of financial experience, specifically within the defense contracting sector.
  • Comprehensive understanding of government contract types (e.g., FFP, T&M, CPFF, CPIF, etc.) and their associated regulations.
  • Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel functionalities.
  • Strong organizational skills, effective oral and written communication abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capacity to learn new custom systems and software utilized by Long Wave.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with program managers and other departmental personnel, as well as independently manage projects and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with project-based accounting practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)/(DFAR) and government contractor cost structures.
  • Understanding and experience with the Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA).
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint or comparable government contractor accounting systems.
