Position Overview:
Join Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) as a Security Operations Specialist, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of personnel and facilities. This role involves both static and mobile security duties across various locations, requiring vigilance and adherence to established protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
The Security Operations Specialist will:

  • Monitor access points and verify the credentials of individuals entering and exiting the premises.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations, employing appropriate measures to maintain safety.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, ensuring compliance with security standards and procedures.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with personnel and visitors, fostering a cooperative environment.
  • Perform foot patrols, remaining alert to potential security threats and irregularities.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing items, taking action against unauthorized or suspicious materials.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Possess an active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Complete a pre-employment physical examination and maintain fitness standards.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of security protocols and emergency response procedures.
  • Be at least 21 years of age and a U.S. citizen.
  • Have a clean criminal record, free from felony convictions.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
Candidates must be in good physical condition, capable of handling the demands of the role, including:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as running, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Good vision and hearing capabilities to respond to alarms and detect emergencies.
  • Capability to manage stress and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.

Work Environment:
This position primarily involves interior posts, requiring a focus on maintaining a secure environment.
