Leidos is seeking an Energy Operations and Maintenance Consultant. In this role, you will collaborate within a team to support our established energy consulting practice while managing deliverables effectively. Your knowledge in the operation and maintenance of both thermal and renewable energy facilities will be instrumental in enhancing Leidos' insights, O&M information repository, best practices, and internal development initiatives.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will generate independent engineering reports for energy generation facilities, supporting both buy-side and sell-side transactions.
You will also engage in the development and maintenance of standard assessments regarding the operation, maintenance, and utility of various technologies and assets, providing expert guidance to project managers and clients.
Work Locations: Preference will be given to candidates in specific regions, although other locations may be considered. Relocation assistance may be available.
Travel Requirements: This position may involve up to 35% travel, including international assignments, and may require extended hours to meet client demands.

Our consulting group, comprising approximately 100 professionals, primarily focuses on private sector energy opportunities, offering services such as consulting, independent engineering, mergers and acquisitions consulting, market analysis, and transmission studies. Our knowledgeable engineering consultants collaborate across disciplines to innovate for our clients.
What Makes You Stand Out:
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of thermal or renewable energy facilities.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of four years of relevant experience; additional experience may substitute for formal education.
- Familiarity with market trends in power generation technologies.
- Direct involvement in a variety of O&M activities, including plant engineering, production, management, budgeting, maintenance coordination, and performance evaluations.
- Commercial experience with power purchase agreements, O&M contracts, asset management agreements, and long-term service contracts, along with a grasp of technical permit requirements.
- Willingness to travel to energy generation sites for equipment assessments and performance testing.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment on comprehensive technical due diligence projects.
- Support for clients, including private equity firms, investment banks, infrastructure developers, and government agencies.
- Capability to evaluate major maintenance practices and forecast O&M costs, including fixed and variable expenses, capital expenditures, and major maintenance costs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience and understanding of statistical analysis.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Prior experience as an independent engineer, asset manager, plant manager, or developer.
- Understanding of equipment degradation and project-level useful life.
- Relevant experience in engineering design, technology evaluation, performance modeling, analysis, and testing.
- Foreign language skills, particularly in Spanish.
