Exciting Opportunity in Energy Solutions
We are in search of a DER Protection & Controls Engineer to contribute to our dynamic team within the Energy Solutions sector. This role will involve tackling complex engineering challenges related to distributed energy resources (DERs) and protection and controls (P&C) systems, with a primary focus on renewable energy projects such as solar installations, wind energy systems, and battery storage solutions.
WORKING ARRANGEMENTS: Hybrid schedule with flexibility for in-office days
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical engineering expertise and strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Responsibilities will include collaborating with project managers, guiding design engineers and CADD staff, and conducting design quality assessments. The role may also entail direct interaction with clients and team members in various locations. Projects will encompass all phases from planning through design and construction support, with design tasks ranging from Protection and Control schemes at 480V to 500kV, as well as Smart Grid and microgrid automation initiatives.

What You Will Bring:
- B.S. or M.S. degree in electrical engineering (preferably with a focus on power systems or sustainable energy)
- A minimum of two (2+) years of experience in high voltage electrical utility substation protection and control engineering is preferred
- Experience with One and Three-line diagrams
- Knowledge of control and protection schemes, including schematic and wiring diagram preparation
- Familiarity with ASPEN software is advantageous
- Previous experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control is a plus
- Ability to meet deadlines in high-pressure situations
- Collaborative team player
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client and team interactions
- High level of computer proficiency
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Effective communication skills with teams and clients
