We are in search of a DER Protection & Controls Engineer to be part of our dynamic team. This role will focus on addressing complex engineering challenges related to distributed energy resources (DERs) and protection and controls (P&C) systems, particularly in renewable energy projects such as solar installations, wind energy systems, and battery storage solutions.

WORK SCHEDULE: Hybrid model with flexibility for in-office days

The successful candidate will possess a blend of robust engineering capabilities and strong interpersonal skills, along with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to excellence. Responsibilities will include collaborating with project managers, overseeing design engineers and CADD personnel, and conducting design quality assessments. The role may also involve direct client interactions and coordination with remote teams. Projects will encompass the entire spectrum from planning through design and construction support, with design tasks that may range from Protection and Control schemes at 480V to 500kV, as well as Smart Grid and microgrid automation initiatives.

What you will bring:
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in electrical engineering (preferably with a focus on power systems or sustainable energy)
  • A minimum of two (2+) years of experience in high voltage electrical utility substation protection and control engineering is preferred
Preferred qualifications include:
  • Experience with One and Three-line diagrams
  • Control and protection schemes, including schematic and wiring diagram preparation
  • Familiarity with ASPEN software is advantageous
  • Prior Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience is a plus
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Collaborative team player
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for client and team interactions
  • High level of computer proficiency
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Effective communication skills with teams and clients
