Job Summary

Yanmar America Corp is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Business Development and Growth to drive the growth and development of our commercial energy systems and service portfolio throughout North America.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility and drive revenue growth, taking into consideration the utilization of group companies and partners to win mid-to-large scale energy-related projects.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and market segments, particularly in the energy sector, to expand the company's customer base and maximize growth potential.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive intelligence specific to the energy industry.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including group companies, to develop and execute effective marketing campaigns and promotional activities tailored to energy-related projects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders in the energy sector to drive business growth and foster strategic collaborations.
  • Lead the planning and execution of business development initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, and joint ventures, with a focus on leveraging these strategies as tools to grow the business.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sales and marketing activities, specifically related to energy-related projects, making adjustments as necessary to achieve targets.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the sales and marketing team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring their professional growth in the context of energy-related projects.
  • Prepare and present regular reports and updates to the executive team and board of directors, highlighting the progress and potential of utilizing group companies, M&A, and partnerships in driving business growth in the energy sector.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of micro-grid systems and their applications in the energy sector. In-depth knowledge of energy systems (e.g. CHP, generators, HVAC) and the sector trends (renewable energy, sustainability practices, etc.) is a large plus.
  • Familiarity with servitization concepts, such as ESCO (Energy Service Company), PPA (Power Purchase Agreement), VPP (Virtual Power Plant), and other related models.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to identify growth opportunities and develop actionable plans in the context of micro-grid and securitization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities in the energy sector.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in sales, marketing, and business development roles, preferably in the energy (heat and power) sector with 10 years + experience.
  • Ability to travel throughout North America to develop business opportunities and sometimes to other continents to work with global headquarters.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders in the energy sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a collaborative and motivational approach to managing teams in the energy (heat and power) sector.
  • Proficiency in market research and analysis tools, CRM systems, and other relevant software specific to the energy industry.
  • Results-oriented mindset, with a focus on achieving targets and driving business growth in micro-grid and securitization.
  • A high level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in the energy (heat and power) sector.
