Daily Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated Field Technician specializing in Construction Materials who will be engaged in fieldwork exclusively, traveling to various project sites. Your responsibilities will encompass essential materials testing, oversight, and inspection services on construction initiatives that enhance the quality of our infrastructure. These projects may include:

  • Transportation infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and airports
  • Large-scale commercial developments
  • Power generation and transmission projects, including renewable energy sources
  • Educational facilities from K-12 to higher education
  • Healthcare construction projects

Your role will involve documenting findings and observations for clients and industry stakeholders. Key testing and inspection activities may consist of both field and laboratory assessments of soils, concrete, and asphalt, along with on-site evaluations for foundations, reinforcing steel, masonry, and structural steel. These efforts are crucial for ensuring compliance with project specifications and enhancing the safety and durability of structures.

Compensation Structure

Compensation will be based on experience and certifications:

  • 0-3 years of experience, no certifications: $18-$20/HR
  • 3-5 years of experience, no certifications: $20-$23/HR
  • 5-10+ years of experience, no certifications: $22-$23/HR
  • ACI certification: $20-$22/HR
  • PTI certification: $22-$26/HR
Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience in the construction or engineering sector
  • Ability to interpret structural and civil engineering drawings
  • Background in inspecting earthworks, concrete, masonry, soil, asphalt, and aggregates
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred:

  • Experience in construction materials testing
  • Degree in construction management or engineering
  • Certifications in one or more of the following:
    • NICET Level II in Construction Materials Testing (Asphalt, Concrete, Soils)
    • NICET Level II in Geotechnical (Construction, Laboratory, Exploration, Generalist)
    • ICC certifications in various categories (Reinforced Concrete, Structural Steel, etc.)
    • AWS Certified Associate Welding Inspector (CAWI)
    • ASNT Level II in multiple testing methods
    • Other relevant certifications as deemed appropriate
