Position Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled Estimator with expertise in Commercial, Civil, and Industrial Construction. This role is essential for ensuring accurate project estimates and effective management of construction operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Project Estimates: Assess labor, materials, and time requirements for various construction projects.
  • Conduct High-Level Takeoffs: Utilize unit pricing to ensure precise project estimations.
  • Coordinate with Trade Contractors: Manage multiple contractors to ensure comprehensive scope coverage.
  • Prepare RFP Documentation: Leverage scheduling information to estimate general conditions and related items.
  • Scope Comparison: Employ leveling charts to identify the most competitive bids.
  • Identify Necessary Trades: Determine essential trades and scopes for projects.
  • Archive Cost Data: Organize and maintain historical cost information.
  • Explore Bid Opportunities: Evaluate potential projects that align with company objectives.
  • Participate in Pre-Bid Meetings: Engage in meetings to gather insights and relevant information.
  • Information Management: Oversee the collection of information from governmental and private entities affecting projects.
  • Manage Addendum Logs: Ensure proper distribution of documents to subcontractors.
  • Mentor New Team Members: Provide guidance to new estimators and engineers.
  • Solicit New Bidders: Assist in the pre-qualification process for upcoming projects.
  • Provide Training: Educate other estimators and interns on best practices.
  • Ensure Project Turnover: Facilitate smooth transitions of projects to operational teams.
  • Coordinate Estimate Review Meetings: Communicate effectively with the operations team.
  • Assist with Change Orders: Support project management in capturing additional costs accurately.
  • Multitask Effectively: Manage multiple estimates concurrently.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of three years in construction operations, with a focus on materials management and project execution.
  • Detail-Oriented: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Independent Worker: Capable of working autonomously to meet shared goals.
  • Presentation Skills: Proficient in creating and delivering professional presentations.
  • Mathematical Proficiency: Strong mathematical skills applicable to estimating.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff (OST), PlanSwift, and others.
  • Software Proficiency: Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Professional Attitude: Demonstrated professionalism and strong customer service skills.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to articulate company values effectively.

Educational Background:

  • Degree: An associate's or bachelor's degree in Estimating, Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
