Position Overview

The Patient Services Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless experience for individuals seeking medical attention at Christus Health. This position is responsible for managing patient registrations and facilitating their journey through the healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitates the registration process for all patients in alignment with established protocols.
  • Ensures accurate registration of patients referred by healthcare providers for various treatments and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Conducts pre-registration for services, meticulously gathering essential information, including billing details.
  • Scans and uploads all necessary documentation into the patient's electronic health record.
  • Coordinates scheduling of required services through centralized scheduling systems.
  • Communicates with insurance companies via fax as necessary.
  • Completes Advanced Beneficiary Notices for patients when applicable.
  • Welcomes patients in the order of their arrival, with exceptions for those with prior appointments.
  • Collects payments for services rendered and manages outstanding patient accounts.
  • Balances the cash drawer at the conclusion of each shift.
  • Assists patients with inquiries related to insurance, billing, and account management.
  • Verifies insurance benefits and informs patients of any pre-authorization requirements.
  • Guides patients to the appropriate departments or service areas.
  • Confirms that necessary insurance authorizations and referrals are documented in patient records prior to their visit.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
