Position Overview

The Patient Intake Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless experience for patients as they navigate the healthcare system. This position is essential for maintaining efficient operations within the practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage incoming calls and assist in scheduling patient appointments.
  • Effectively register patients upon arrival, ensuring all pertinent information is collected accurately.
  • Scan and upload necessary documents into the patient's electronic record.
  • Communicate with insurance providers to send required notifications.
  • Conduct pre-registration through phone interactions.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to all patients.
  • Request and obtain medical records for new or referred patients.
  • Confirm that all necessary insurance authorizations and referrals are documented prior to patient visits.
  • Regularly update patient information, including contact details and insurance coverage.
  • Ensure all front office forms are current and properly organized, including new patient documentation.
  • Collect co-payments and outstanding balances at the time of service, accurately posting to accounts and daily logs.
  • Balance the cash drawer at the conclusion of each shift.
  • Assist patients with inquiries related to insurance, billing, and other account-related questions, directing them to certified personnel when necessary.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures, including dress code and workplace conduct.
  • Prepare patient charts in accordance with established protocols.
Qualifications

Education:

Required: High School Diploma

Licenses & Certifications:

Required: C-Heartsaver Certification

Preferred: C-BLS Certification
