As the Assistant Financial Controller, you will play a vital role in our finance department, working closely with the Corporate Controller. Key Responsibilities:
In this position, you will:
- Collaborate with the Corporate Controller to oversee daily accounting functions, ensuring precision and efficiency in all financial activities.
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, guaranteeing that financial reports are accurate and timely, providing valuable insights.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis to deliver insights into financial performance and identify opportunities for enhancement.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative team culture.
- Develop, document, and maintain internal processes and procedures, providing training and guidance to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Create and maintain financial models and forecasts that aid in strategic decision-making and budgeting.
- Monitor cash flow, evaluate financial risks, and implement controls to protect our assets.
- Ensure adherence to all accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts, collaborating with department heads to align financial objectives with business goals.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices, recommending improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy.

What We Are Looking For:
We seek a candidate who possesses:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA credentials are advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years focused on contract and/or construction accounting.
- A comprehensive understanding of GAAP and accounting standards relevant to the hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar, along with advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
- A keen eye for detail, a commitment to accuracy, and a high level of integrity.
- The ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
