Job Summary

The Director of Finance, FP&A will be an integral part of the Marriott Vacations Worldwide FP&A and Asset Management team, responsible for designing, developing, refining, and maintaining the company's financial planning and analysis tools to support business strategies that drive short and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial analyses, develop reports, and deliver presentations to senior leaders, including detailed and concise assessments of Marriott Vacations Worldwide's financial results.
  • Build and maintain financial models using Excel, Business Intelligence Tools, and large data sets to identify areas of financial risk and opportunity.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial analyses, deriving data insights and determining trends and projections.
  • Prepare and circulate executive financial dashboards to Marriott Vacations Worldwide senior leaders and provide insights on hotel performance versus targets/goals.
  • Perform financial analyses, prepares, and presents reports, presentations, and analyses to senior leaders on an ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as Occupancy, Average Daily Revenue (ADR), RevPAR, index performance, flow through, gross operating profit margins, productivity, etc., to support data-based decision making.
  • Support development and implementation of three-year asset management plans, including developing a road map for exceeding best-in-class performance and achievement of stated investment goals.
  • Perform competitive analyses primarily focused on Marriott Vacations Worldwide's condo hotel portfolio.
  • Assist with preparation of Marriott Vacations Worldwide's annual budget process and monthly forecast, including setting schedules, preparing presentations, and conducting detailed variance analyses.
  • Provide guidance to Marriott Vacations Worldwide Directors of Finance in the preparation of hotel-level budgets and forecasts.
  • Act as an internal FP&A consultant to Marriott Vacations Worldwide site General Managers, corporate Directors of Finance, the corporate Revenue Management team, the Sales and Marketing team, and Site Operations teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Economics/Finance/Accounting or equivalent work experience required. MBA in Finance preferred.
  • At least 10 years of overall finance experience working in FP&A, asset management, and/or operational finance in hospitality.
  • At least three years managing a team.
  • Financial systems and business intelligence experience is critical.
  • Experience in hotel management, hospitality, or travel preferred.
  • Experience in a global, matrix-structured organization preferred.
