POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Culinary Manager will oversee kitchen operations, manage back-of-house staff, and ensure the quality and consistency of all culinary outputs. This role involves the proper handling and storage of food items, adhering to health regulations and company standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise kitchen personnel and daily culinary operations.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of kitchen policies and effectively communicate changes to staff.
  • Ensure performance standards are met by coordinating with all areas of the kitchen.
  • Train and orient kitchen staff to guarantee efficient operations and workflow.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage supply orders to maintain stock.
  • Develop appealing menu items that enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations while fostering a safe work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of culinary management experience in a high-end restaurant or catering setting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience in food cost management and vendor relations.
  • A culinary degree is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead a team effectively.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires standing for extended periods and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. The work environment can be hot, and tasks are primarily performed indoors.

COMPENSATION

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
