About the EDIT Program:

The Evaluation, Data Integration, and Technical Assistance (EDIT) Program is committed to community-based evaluation, particularly focusing on the health and well-being of sexual and gender minority (SGM) individuals. This program empowers community organizations to develop and assess culturally responsive initiatives that support SGM youth. By employing innovative methodologies, the EDIT Program rigorously analyzes health disparities and advocates for health equity among underrepresented SGM populations.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the EDIT Director, the Research Project Coordinator will manage the daily operations of the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) project. This role includes overseeing analytical tasks related to health outcome disparities, HIV-related sexual risk behaviors, and alcohol consumption among sexual minority and heterosexual youth. The coordinator will facilitate planning sessions, promote peer mentorship, and collaborate closely with faculty members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all project activities related to YRBS data, ensuring comprehensive data curation from national and state sources.
  • Lead the timely production of dissemination materials, including newsletters, reports, and publications.
  • Contribute to future research initiatives stemming from the R01 project.
  • Develop and maintain databases and data management tools to ensure data accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with research team members to design and implement research projects utilizing YRBS data.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documents for various stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social or health sciences or a related field, with relevant research experience.
  • Project management or supervisory experience is essential.
  • Completion of IRB CITI training is required prior to participant interaction.

Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate communication among diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Proficient in data curation and management techniques.
  • Ability to interpret and present data effectively.
  • Knowledge of health disparities and academic research methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in public health, statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience with large datasets and youth-related research.
  • Familiarity with community-based participatory research models.
