Project Manager Job Description

UIC Technical Services is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead the overall direction, coordination, and execution of specific projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and accurately interpret project plans and specifications for the proper execution of work.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of multiple projects, including preparing contracts and negotiating revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements.
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports, and manage project budget and resource allocations.
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables, and develop full-scale project plans.
  • Manage project timelines, track project deliverables using appropriate tools, and provide direction and support to project team.
  • Quality assurance, monitoring and reporting on project progress, and presenting reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions.
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs, and consolidate and analyze historical data to assist with estimating future projects.
Requirements:
  • 5 years of experience in Construction Management, with experience working in a multi-cultural environment and thorough knowledge of construction materials and practices.
  • Proficiency with Submittal Registers and Submittal Process, Heavy Bid Estimating and Heavy Job Construction Software, and P6 or Microsoft Projects Scheduling Software.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA construction regulations and ability to read and interpret engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings and specifications.
Working Conditions:

The work environment is that of a typical office setting, with occasional travel to rural areas. The employee is frequently required to read text on a computer screen and in hard copy, stand or sit, talk, and hear, and occasionally required to stand or walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, bend, or reach with hands and arms.
