Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Shift: Standard Work Day
Schedule: 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime. This is not a remote position. After completing training, there may be an opportunity to work from home one day a week.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Buyer Associate to become a part of our Control Box Division. This division is focused on manufacturing control boxes for various rooftop units within the refrigeration and HVAC sectors. If you possess strong communication and decision-making abilities and excel in a dynamic environment, this position offers a valuable opportunity to enhance your career in supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborative Analysis and Communication: Engage with diverse teams across business units, including sales, scheduling, production, customer service, quality, expeditors, global sourcing, finance, shipping/receiving, and engineering, to create essential analyses and documentation. Ensure effective communication to align on objectives and strategies.
- Supply Chain Management: Strategically plan, analyze, procure, and expedite components to satisfy sales demands, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining optimal inventory levels. Utilize precise purchase orders and schedule agreements to synchronize with production timelines and customer requirements.
- MRP and Inventory Control: Regularly assess the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to guarantee timely material availability for production. Generate specialized reports to manage inventory levels and achieve monthly inventory dollar goals.
- Supplier Management: Ensure 100% supplier on-time delivery by distributing open order reports and conducting weekly meetings with suppliers to confirm orders. Apply business judgment to resolve issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Accounts Payable Resolution: Manage daily Accounts Payable discrepancies to facilitate timely payments to suppliers.
- Quality Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Quality Department to address supplier quality concerns, ensuring defective materials are returned for credit.
- Project Assistance: Support management with assigned projects as necessary, contributing to the overall success of the division.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of experience as a Buyer/Materials Planner with Accounts Payable resolution experience.
- Associate Degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience and Skills:
- SAP experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Strong background in Accounts Payable invoice resolution.
- Expertise in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
- Exceptional decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (including V Lookups and Pivot tables).
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings.
- A strong work ethic, focused on results and continuous improvement.

Pay Details: $32.84 per hour
