Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven individual to join our team as a Logistics Sourcing Specialist. As a key member of our Circle Logistics team, you will be responsible for developing and establishing carrier relationships to provide cost-effective solutions for our current and prospective customer base.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a Business Strategy: Create a comprehensive business strategy to build a pipeline of qualified partner carriers.
  • Source and Secure Carriers: Identify and secure a network of carriers based on account management needs, with the expectation of developing contracted capacity.
  • Review and Analyze Capacity: Continuously review your pipeline's capacity to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Negotiate Freight Rates: Provide and negotiate freight rates to carriers to improve margins.
  • Manage Carrier Pipeline: Ensure accurate levels of service by managing the carrier pipeline.
  • Utilize Data-Driven Resources: Use data-driven resources to make informed decisions.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Collaborate internally with teams on pricing strategies and account implementation plans.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively both internally and externally.
  • Resolve Transportation Issues: Resolve transportation problems with urgency and professionalism.
  • Procure New Carriers: Actively procure new carriers based on volume and lane density.
  • Maintain Market Knowledge: Maintain strong market knowledge of shipping lanes, geography, and seasonality.
  • Meet KPIs and Goals: Meet and exceed KPIs and goals as set by department leadership.
  • Verify TMS Profile: Review and verify your TMS profile for data integrity for both existing and new carriers.
  • Support Other Departments: Support other departments as necessary utilizing your carrier pipeline.
Requirements:
  • Logistics Experience: Logistics experience preferred (i.e. brokerage, asset-based, warehousing, etc.).
  • Education: Associates or Bachelor's degree in logistics or business-related fields preferred.
  • High School Diploma: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Google Drive and Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, reports).
