Role Overview:

The Buyer Associate plays a crucial role in the procurement and sourcing of essential materials and resources for the organization, focusing on both direct and indirect materials. This includes assisting with long-term agreements (LTA) and the creation of purchase orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with various stakeholder teams across different business units such as sales, scheduling, production, customer service, quality assurance, global sourcing, finance, shipping/receiving, and engineering to develop necessary analyses and documentation.
  2. Manage the supply chain for designated commodities, ensuring timely procurement and delivery of components to meet production schedules.
  3. Conduct inventory control analyses to guarantee that materials arrive punctually for production while adhering to monthly inventory budget goals.
  4. Utilize the SAP system to monitor supplier performance, ensuring a target of 100% on-time delivery by sending open order reports and conducting weekly follow-ups with suppliers.
  5. Resolve daily Accounts Payable discrepancies to facilitate timely payments to suppliers.
  6. Work closely with the Quality Department to address supplier quality issues and manage the return of defective materials for credit.
  7. Assist management with assigned projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Buyer or Materials Planner, including Accounts Payable resolution experience.
  • Associate Degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • High School Diploma with 7+ years of experience in a similar role.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SAP is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in Accounts Payable invoice resolution.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP systems.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Moderate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (V Lookups and Pivot Tables).
  • Capability to work collaboratively in a team setting as well as independently.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
