Pine Gate Renewables is on the lookout for a Staff Accountant II who is eager to grow and evolve within a vibrant organization in the renewable energy field. This position is responsible for maintaining the general ledger accounts and records for multiple project entities in alignment with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate will exhibit strong communication abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a positive demeanor. In this role, you will ensure the delivery of precise and timely financial outputs, contribute to ongoing improvement efforts, and support various departmental needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage 6-10 funds, ranging from basic to complex.
  • Execute the month-end closing process for assigned funds accurately and punctually.
  • Comprehend cash flow basics through fund entity structures and manage cash for assigned funds, including weekly bank reconciliations and wire transfers.
  • Familiarize yourself with the portfolio entity structure of Pine Gate Renewables.
  • Conduct a thorough self-review of fund month-end close journal entries and supporting documents.
  • Assist in gathering necessary documentation for the annual audit of assigned funds.
  • Understand the roles of other accounting and finance team members within Pine Gate.
  • Collaborate with other departments as necessary on activities impacting assigned funds.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact within the organization for all assigned funds.
  • Perform additional duties as required, including assisting with month-end workpapers and basic process documentation.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year in public accounting or 2 years in corporate accounting, demonstrating skill advancement and responsibility.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of building relationships across the organization and effectively conveying issues and updates to management.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to see tasks through to completion.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and seeking assistance when necessary.
  • Proficient in accounting principles and current with industry developments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems is advantageous.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
