CorVel Corporation is seeking a compassionate, driven, and autonomous registered nurse to join our team as a Healthcare Case Management Specialist.

This position offers the flexibility of working remotely and involves local travel. The work schedule is Monday through Friday during standard business hours.

As a Healthcare Case Management Specialist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the recovery journey of injured workers and their families.

Your key responsibilities will include collaborating closely with injured workers to support their rehabilitation process. You will engage with the patient, their family, healthcare providers, and other team members to ensure comprehensive care.

This role entails significant local travel, managing a caseload of workers' compensation cases within a specified area.


CORE FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver Medical Case Management services through both in-person and telephonic interactions with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Utilize your nursing expertise to review and discuss current treatment plans with physicians, exploring alternative options as necessary.

Assess the appropriateness, medical necessity, and cost-effectiveness of patients' treatment plans.

Provide thorough evaluation, planning, implementation, and monitoring of patient progress.

Participate in visits with doctors, other providers, and in some instances, attorneys.

Attend discharge planning meetings at hospitals or long-term care facilities to evaluate care suitability and develop effective long-term care strategies.

Conduct initial home visits for comprehensive evaluations.

Facilitate care by coordinating the delivery of necessary medical equipment and nursing services.

This position requires regular travel based on the needs of the injured workers, with local travel expectations of up to approximately 60% of the work week/month.

Occasional overnight travel may be necessary.



KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Excellent communication and multitasking abilities in a dynamic, high-volume, team-focused environment.

Experience as a Registered Nurse or in Medical Case Management is preferred, with a clinical background in orthopedics, neurology, or rehabilitation being advantageous.

Ability to effectively engage with patients, their healthcare providers, attorneys, and colleagues.

A background in cost containment, such as utilization review or managed care, is beneficial.

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills are essential.

Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office, including Excel.

Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Current RN Licensure in the relevant state of operation.
Preferred certifications include CCM, CIRS, or other Case Management credentials.
A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for travel to designated locations.

COMPENSATION:
CorVel employs a market-based approach to compensation, with salary ranges varying based on geographic location and other relevant factors.

Compensation is determined by:

federal, state, and local minimum wage laws, geographic location differentials, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and market conditions.

Salary ranges are subject to change.

For roles with multiple levels (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.), new hires may be assigned to a different level based on assessment during the interview process, considering experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the position.

The assigned level may influence the salary range, and these details will be clarified during the offer process.



Salary Range:
