Job Title: Interim Accounting Manager

At Vaco, we are seeking an experienced Interim Accounting Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting functions within our manufacturing company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions. Manage cash flow and perform bank reconciliations.
  • Sales and Use Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate calculation, reporting, and remittance of sales and use tax. Verify and review sales tax on invoices to ensure proper tax application.
  • Compliance and Control: Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements. Assist with tax-related inquiries, including annual filing and compliance questions.
  • Team Management: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, accounts management, sales and use tax compliance, and regulatory adherence.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
