About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Domestic Account Executive to join our team at R+L Global Logistics. As a key member of our sales team, you will play a pivotal role in driving new business growth and expanding our customer base within the logistics and supply chain industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Conduct thorough research to identify potential leads and prospects, develop tailored entrance strategies, and qualify their transportation spend to generate new business opportunities.
  • Sales and Account Management: Manage a high volume of outbound phone calls to sell transportation solutions, negotiate rates, and service your existing client network.
  • Relationship Building: Grow a book of business through identifying, sourcing, and developing relationships with prospective clients.
  • Logistics Solutions: Present the full range of services offered by R+L Global Logistics to customers, building comprehensive logistics and supply chain solutions that address their unique needs.
  • Customer Service: Ensure precise input of customer information into our transportation management system.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Capacity team to secure load coverage and dispatch arrangements, address shipment challenges, and ensure that shippers and consignees are well-informed.
  • Customer Retention: Cultivate long-term relationships with clients and carriers by consistently delivering unmatched customer service.
  • Sales Strategy: Utilize upselling techniques to promote and sell additional services.
  • Sales Pipeline Management: Manage a robust sales pipeline, lead generation, and sales funnel.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems that may arise in the course of business.
  • Quote Preparation: Prepare accurate quotes for new and existing business partners in alignment with monthly and quarterly goals.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience: Previous experience selling a service to customers or businesses.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, questioning skills, conflict resolution, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work Ethic: Detail-oriented mindset with effective time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Personal Qualities: Demonstrated strong work ethic and eagerness to learn and apply sales techniques in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability: Available to work full-time on-site at our office location.
  • Language: Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree is a plus.
  • Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of the sales cycle, a sales pipeline, and a sales funnel is a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience in full truckload and 3PL sales is a plus.
  • Transportation Knowledge: Familiarity with transportation modes such as dry van, expedited, flatbed, oversized, refrigerated, or intermodal is a plus.
