JOB OVERVIEW:

In this role, you will leverage your leadership and healthcare/customer service expertise to support our operational teams at fixed sites. As a team lead, you will coach, mentor, instruct, and serve as a resource for our blood collection personnel while performing blood collection tasks at our donor center.

The Red Cross provides paid training in phlebotomy, allowing you to enhance your healthcare skills and advance your career within the nation's foremost humanitarian organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the team and drive results through exceptional customer service.
  • Exemplify professionalism and compassion while representing the nation's largest non-profit blood banking organization.
  • Serve as a lead/charge at the donor center when required and perform phlebotomy.
  • Work independently with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that the blood collected meets regulatory standards.

SCHEDULE:

  • To effectively meet the needs of our donors and community, staff work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Schedules are provided two to three weeks in advance.

COMPENSATION:

  • Starting pay is determined based on experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience (18 months to four years of work experience in a related field) is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in public-facing environments is required.
  • Phlebotomy experience is mandatory.
  • Customer service experience, effective verbal communication, and public relations skills are essential.
  • A valid driver's license and a good driving record may be necessary.
  • LPN or equivalent experience is required, which may include needlesticks, phlebotomy, and other relevant medical responsibilities.
  • Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push, or pull heavy weights, good manual dexterity, and the capacity to sit or stand for extended periods, adapting to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.) is advantageous.
  • Prior leadership experience in healthcare settings is preferred.
