Job Overview

TED Conferences, LLC is seeking a talented individual for the position of Head of Brand Strategy and Communications.

This pivotal role involves overseeing the TED brand across various platforms and implementing brand and communication strategies that align with the organization's objectives.

Your responsibilities will include crafting the narrative of TED and determining the most effective channels for storytelling, as well as managing brand and messaging standards while collaborating with diverse teams and external partners to ensure consistency in their communications.


As a key component of your role, you will orchestrate and oversee the launch campaigns for each new cohort of projects, including the public unveiling of their individual TED Talks.

As TED continues to innovate, you will work closely with the Executive Director and other leaders to ensure that new initiatives resonate with the brand's identity and value proposition.

Additionally, you will collaborate with TED counterparts to amplify TED's mission and explore potential synergies and support opportunities.

While this position may offer remote work flexibility, there is a strong preference for candidates to be based in a location that facilitates collaboration with the team.

Key Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Executive Director, define TED's communication vision, strategy, and priorities to further the organization's mission and objectives.

Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy for TED, identifying key channels (e.g., LinkedIn) and partnering with internal and external stakeholders for content creation and ideation.

Oversee and manage the launch of each TED cohort, ensuring that goals and timelines are met while collaborating with various partners for successful execution.

Work alongside team leaders to produce engaging communication materials (e.g., talking points for public engagements, event collateral, briefing documents for prospective grantees).

Create and uphold TED's brand guidelines (e.g., voice and tone style guide).

Manage relationships with external agencies, copywriters, and content creators as necessary.

Assist the Executive Director and team leaders in staying ahead of industry trends and be responsible for the ongoing evolution of the TED brand, including updates to key touchpoints.

Act as a liaison to TED brand counterparts, identifying opportunities for collaboration and mutual support.
