Your Role:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Civil Engineering Technician to enhance our team. This role offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for a blend of remote and in-office collaboration.

As a vital member of our civil engineering team, you will contribute to the development of better communities through various projects, including:

  • Designing complete streets and safe sidewalks
  • Creating sustainable utility systems
  • Planning parks and trails

Your expertise will be instrumental in all project phases, from initial planning and design to contract documentation and construction oversight. Your work will have a direct impact on the daily lives of community members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Civil Engineering team in various capacities
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for the design and analysis of infrastructure projects
  • Employ Microsoft Excel for project cost estimation and quantity takeoffs
  • Prepare detailed construction plans, specifications, and reports
  • Act as a construction observer to ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Document daily construction activities and assist in material testing
  • Participate in team and client meetings to align project goals
  • Stay updated on design standards and continuously seek improvement
  • Commit to excellence in a collaborative team environment

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related discipline
  • 1-2 years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel for site inspections and client meetings
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions and navigate construction sites
  • Availability for overtime as required

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in public infrastructure and private site design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Relevant MnDOT Technical Certifications
