Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Traffic Engineering Specialist to enhance our vibrant team, concentrating on the management of traffic engineering initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for data gathering, traffic assessments, documentation, and collaborating with clients to ensure successful project outcomes.

Our proficiency plays a crucial role in partnering with County and State clients to devise optimal, sustainable, and cost-efficient solutions that maximize taxpayer investment value. Expanding our Traffic Engineering services is a strategic initiative aimed at further strengthening Sambatek's Transportation Practice.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with transportation experts on projects for State and County agencies
  • Lead data collection efforts, including traffic counts and accident analysis
  • Conduct traffic operations assessments for various transportation initiatives
  • Perform accident analysis and propose future enhancements
  • Oversee traffic-related tasks for studies and design projects
  • Represent Sambatek in meetings with clients, counties, and other stakeholders
  • Engage in quality assurance, risk management, and resource coordination
  • Contribute to business development and support pursuit activities
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in traffic/transportation
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification in Civil Engineering, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Preferred experience with traffic simulation software such as Synchro/SimTraffic and/or VISSIM
  • Active participation in professional organizations
  • Committed to surpassing expectations and fostering strong relationships
  • Experience managing traffic-related tasks for county or state projects
  • Proficient in traffic engineering software and project evaluation
  • Expertise in multi-modal projects and traffic impact assessments
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with the public
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based work setting
  • Ability to occasionally lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds
