Career Overview

We are seeking a proficient Project Engineer to play a vital role in the design of water resources for numerous transportation and land development initiatives. In this position, you will be tasked with executing hydraulic and hydrologic design assignments while ensuring adherence to best management practices throughout the design process.

As a Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your skills in the following areas and assume leadership responsibilities in project execution:

  • Engagement in preliminary design and planning stages of transportation and land development projects
  • Conducting quantity calculations for bidding purposes
  • Involvement in quality assurance review processes
  • Expert CAD drafting using MicroStation, GEOPAK, and OpenRoads Designer
  • Leading specific tasks within a collaborative team setting
  • Performing water resources calculations, modeling, and report evaluations
  • Building and maintaining client relationships through exceptional service
  • Guiding and mentoring junior professionals
  • Collaborating in a team-oriented environment with an emphasis on communication and mutual respect

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Possession of a Minnesota PE license in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering (or eligibility to obtain within 6 months)
  • Strong proficiency in hydraulic design and hydrology
  • Experience with Bentley MicroStation, GEOPAK, and OpenRoads Designer
  • Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software
  • Expertise in FEMA floodplain analysis
  • Understanding of industry standards and regulations

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based with occasional fieldwork
  • Ability to lift objects up to 10 pounds
  • Exposure to various weather conditions during field activities
