Position Summary: The primary objective of this role is to manage the daily operations of the Pharmacy department within a retail environment, ensuring exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the precision and suitability of all prescriptions by conducting thorough Drug Utilization Reviews and Final Quality Assurance, adhering to state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Drive business growth and prescription volume through recommended clinical initiatives, including immunization programs and Medication Therapy Management (MTM).
  • Supervise the daily functions of the Pharmacy department.
  • Provide expert counsel to customers regarding their medications.
  • Enhance the profitability and growth of the Pharmacy Department.
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints to foster trust and loyalty.
  • Comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Engage with healthcare providers to gather additional information about prescriptions and customer needs.
  • Ensure outstanding customer service is delivered by Pharmacy associates.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient Pharmacy environment.
  • Offer leadership and development opportunities for associates, including career advancement discussions and regular performance feedback.
  • Safeguard the security of the Pharmacy department.
  • Maintain accurate records for controlled substances, outdated medications, and customer files.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory to meet customer demands effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures related to controlled substance dispensing and record-keeping.
  • Prioritize and complete Pharmacy Department tasks in a timely manner, including inventory management and customer notifications.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree (BS), Doctoral degree (PHARM.D.), or equivalent in Pharmacy, along with Immunization Certification from an accredited organization (e.g., APhA) and a minimum of one year of experience as a licensed Pharmacist, or a suitable combination of education and experience. Retail experience is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

This position requires the following:

  • Valid Pharmacist License in the state of practice.
  • Valid Immunization Certification.
  • Valid Immunization License in the state of practice, if mandated by state regulations.
