Overview

The Facilities Operations Manager is accountable for the strategic planning, organization, administration, and oversight of departmental activities to uphold the necessary standards and operational effectiveness. This role involves supervising and guiding teams of both hourly and salaried personnel to fulfill customer expectations while adhering to the organization's standards. The Manager must implement innovative and efficient management strategies to enhance employee productivity by understanding corporate and industry practices, processes, and standards, as well as their influence on project execution.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $50,000-$105,000 annually.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comply with Ahtna Integrated Services policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction to staff and supervisors.
  • Develop and enforce employee work schedules.
  • Prepare and manage budgets effectively.
  • Collect and analyze operational data.
  • Coordinate all necessary functions within the contract to ensure compliance with quality control, productivity, and safety standards.
  • Conduct employee orientations and performance evaluations.
  • Order necessary supplies, equipment, and linens.
  • Schedule and document all cleaning cycles in the designated areas.
  • Ensure that adequately trained personnel are available to complete contracted tasks.
  • Implement corporate objectives and develop departmental goals to improve efficiency.
  • Encourage team collaboration.
  • Maintain knowledge of contract requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Provide training on required cleaning techniques.
  • Meet project deadlines consistently.
  • Oversee and monitor janitorial staff to ensure safety, quality, and responsiveness.
  • Communicate effectively to promote teamwork and brief incoming shifts on necessary tasks.
  • Ensure adequate staffing by contacting on-call employees as needed.
  • Adhere to established health and safety standards.
  • Participate in required meetings.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations.
  • Address employee issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Be present on-site during regular business hours and available within one hour after hours as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as directed by management.
Supervisory Role
The Facilities Operations Manager oversees and directs teams of hourly and salaried employees.

Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License and current automobile insurance, with the ability to travel to local facilities.
  • A minimum of 4-7 years of project management experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role managing a workforce of similar size and complexity.
  • 4-5 years of experience in a Custodial Supervisor or Manager position is required.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English.
  • Ability to pass a background check and/or government security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
Experience Requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge and supervisory skills necessary for planning daily operations and motivating staff.
  • A CEH (Certified Executive Housekeeper) certification is required; REH (Registered Executive Housekeeper) certification is preferred.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and coordinate with multiple supervisors and managers while maintaining schedules.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Experience working collaboratively within a team environment and with outsourced support teams.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule is necessary.
  • Proficient computer skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree is advantageous.
  • REH (Registered Executive Housekeeper) certification is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Physical Requirements
This position involves moderate to heavy physical work under various conditions. Frequent standing, stooping, walking, lifting heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), and similar activities are required throughout the workday.

Work Environment
The characteristics of the work environment described in this job description represent those an employee may encounter while performing essential duties and responsibilities. Generally, the work is performed indoors in an office setting, with outdoor tasks subject to varying temperatures and noise levels.

Work Schedule
40 hours per week, adjusted according to business needs.
